Happy New Rugby Year Shammies!

Registrations are coming along really well, and we’ve had heaps of interest. If you know anyone that’s thinking about playing, please guide them to its super easy to become a Shammy and get a bit of rugby love into your life.

Training & Coaching

This is really important for the kids for many reasons, so its important to make as many sessions as possible. Details are;

  • Training days – u6 to 11’s will train on Tuesday’s and the u12 to 15’s will train on Thursdays.
  • Start time – 5.15 for a 5.30 start to be finished by 6.35pm.
  • Location – Camperdown Park, Australia St Camperdown.

Week 1 “Muster”

u6’s – 11’s; Tuesday Feb 26.

u12’s to 15’s; Thursday Feb 28.

Now….. why do we call it a muster?

  • Its the first session to blow the cob webs off.
  • Cricket is still winding up, so we need to be accommodating re attendances.
  • Some of the coaches will be really prepared (and get straight into it) and for others we are still getting organised for the year ahead (so we will keep it simple).
  • We are still compiling members so the teams are being added to all the time.

I will be down on both days and can answer (hopefully) any questions you have! If you want to get involved in being a coach or manager, please let us know, its super rewarding and the Committee like to give you a few surprises to say thanks during the year!

Week 2 – “Real Deal”

Each of the teams will be better known and planned for the 5th & 7th March, so expect focused training.

More to come and on the ‘Shammy Way of Coaching”.

Welcome Day – Sunday March 24, 2pm

This is a day started to introduce new and returning families to each other. At Camperdown Park, we put on a BBQ and drinks, hand out the playing kit and get our sponsors to come down and meet our families.

Trial Games

We will communicate trial information as these are organised.

First Competition games

The first competition round ‘weekend’ for this year is starts Friday 29 March to Sunday 31 March.

Looking forward to seeing all out little legend Shammies at Camperdown Park, otherwise known as Shammiesbrook.

Yours in Rugby,

Adam Dunn (Dunny)
