1883 Player of the Year – Max May

The 1883 honour is proudly awarded to the players that the coaches deem to have epitomised the spirit of Shammies Rugby (Inner West Rugby Union Club). They play and train their hardest each and every week and always put the team ahead of themselves. This week we profile Max May from the 2018 season:

Max has grown as a player in 2018.  His discipline, respect, high work rate, never give up attitude and resilience were key factors in Max being awarded the u9 Maroon’s 1883 player. Max hits the ball up fast and hard and only knows one direction. He is always willing to get involved in the hard work of a forward and cleaned out, tackled and ran the ball up until he was exhausted and then kept going. Max is a key ingredient in the success of the Maroons forward pack.

For all 1883 winners please see our honour board page.

Well done Max, we’re all very proud of you over here. It sounds like you have landed at a great club. Enjoy the next season and keep up the work rate.

If I ever make it over and there is a family game, I’ll be a true #9 and spend the whole time hiding behind you.
