1883 Club Player – Javier Kilkenny

The 1883 honour is proudly awarded to the players that the coaches deem to have epitomised the spirit of Shammies Rugby (Inner West Rugby Union Club). They play and train their hardest each and every week and always put the team ahead of themselves. This week we profile Javier Kilkenny from the 2018 season:

Javier is our 1883 player of the year for u9s Blue Team. He consistently performs for the team on the field and at practice. His powerful running is our main strike weapon to get the team over the gain line (plus he bagged a few tries along the way). He doesn’t shy away from the rough stuff and tackles and turns over opposition ball at will. Javier is his own hardest critic, often annoyed he missed a tackle or couldn’t quite chase down an opposition player. His desire to improve sets a great example for his team mates.
